NEWS QUICKIES: JA RULE RELEASED FROM JAIL THEN RE-ARRESTED, KIM KARDASHIAN IS SAYING “TOODLES” TO REALITY TV AND “A DIFFERENT WORLD” ACTOR, LOU MYERS, DIES AT 77!

WELL AHHA-RIGHTY THEN! I’M HERE TO GIVE U A QUICKIE! A NEWS QUICKIE THAT IS (for the perves)!

Let’s start with Ja Rule! So last Thursday morning he was released from prison after serving a 2 year sentence for an illegal gun possession charge. Immediately after being released, he was then transferred into the custody of the Feds this time, because he still needs to serve his term for tax evasion. Starting 2004, he made madd money and skipped out on paying his taxes for numerous years (totaling $1.1 million) to the Feds….AND U KNOW THEY DON’T PLAY….esp. when it comes to their money! The sentence for that charge is supposed to be 28 months, but since he’s already acquired “time served (from his other concurrent sentence),” his attorney is stating that he may only have to do 6 months. He might even be able to do the remaining 6 in a half-way house! He is currently waiting at the Oneida County Jail, in central New York ,for the Feds to tell him where he will finish his prison stint. According to his defense attorney, Stacey Richman:

“Many people are looking forward to experiencing his talent again.”

And I’m like, what talent? He thought he was Tupac at the beginning of his career, then DMX towards the the middle to the end of his career. I still remember when he went on a local radio station in my city, years ago, on the anniversary of Tupac’s death and acted like he was Pac! And I’m not going to lie. I actually got excited and thought it was really him, because I’m one of those folks who thought Pac faked his death back in the day and was living somewhere in Africa! But I’m grown now, so I know better. So much for a news short huh? Sorry!

Okay onto Kimye! So Kanyeezy must be straight putting it on Kim, because she seems to listen to everything this dude says. I mean, you see how he cleaned out her closet, on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, then bought her a whole new wardrobe of tacky clothes that look worse than the stuff she was already wearing before they became an item and she still had a mind of her own. Well this recent advice she’s taking from Kanye, most of the general public will actually appreciate! I constantly read commentary from people wishing Kim Kardashian and her family would just fall off the face of the planet because they’re annoying and just famous for being famous.

So Kim is claiming that after she wraps up shooting season 9, of the Kards, she’s done-dadda with the show! She says Kanye has advised her about being more private and not sharing everything with the world. So um, what’s she really gonna do with the rest of her life if she ain’t on t.v.? That’s really what helps her sale her products and franchise. Honestly, we all know Kanye ain’t tryna be a part of the show and probably doesn’t want their baby on the show either. I rarely see him on there. However I think that when they break-up, she’ll get right back to the show without a second thought! She’s just doing any and everything to cater to Kanye, because apparently she already admitted that she currently dresses the way she does to please Yay!  However, I think she’s going to continue doing Kourtney, Kim and Khloe take Miami and New York.

Finally, Lou Myers (of “A Different World”) passed on February 19th at age 77 after undergoing a heart-related emergency procedure at the Charleston Medical Center in West Virginia. He apparently battled pnemonia for many months and unfortunately slipped into a coma at the hospital after his heart stopped. He died a few hours later. Myers was well-known for playing Ornery Restaurant owner, Mr. Vernon Gaines (during the shows run of 1987-1993). Myers once stated that he owed his introduction to Hollywood to Bill Cosby! “A Different World” was actually a spin off of the “Cosby show,” that was supposed to reflect Cosby’s on-screen daughter (Lisa Bonnet) attending and experiencing college. Myers also made appearances in other popular productions like “The  Wedding Planner,” “How Stella Got Her Groove Back,” “Tin Cup” and “All About the Andersons.” Lou Myers is survived by his son and mother. May he R.I.P.

RIHANNA CELEBRATES HER 25TH BIRTHDAY WITH CHRIS BROWN!

Now, a couple of days ago I read that Chris Brown and Rihanna didn’t spend V-day together, because Ri was mad  Breezy took Karreuche on a date (the day before) to the Topshop and Topman launch party in West Hollywood’s Cecconi’s.  According to Gossiponthis.com, Ri and Bree were both seen out at a the Playhouse nightclub (on V-day), in Hollywood, but they arrived separately. Chris Brown was there chilling first, and Rihanna (who slid in later), “looked startled and upset,” when she noticed Brown. Rihanna made sure she was not seated near Breezy and tried to make him miss her birthday cake by acting extra or showing off in front of him. When Breezy also realized Rihanna was in the building, he supposedly followed suit (of trying to show off) by ordering several bottles to his table. Ri supposedly stayed for an hour, then said “to hell with this” (not verbally) and kept it moving! Awwwe young, sweet love! Isn’t it romantic!?!

ANYWAY FLASH FORWARD TO THIS WEEK!

So now apparently they are back on (if the rumors were even true to begin with)! Which they probably were, because everytime we turn around there’s some drama going on in that cursed Bermuda triangle Coochie….uh Karreuche, Ri and Bree got going on! Anyway Breezy and his boo-thang #1, Ri of course, took a private flight to Hawaii and rang in her grande venticinco anos feliz compleanos (big 25 year birthday…..hey I tried) in that sexy, relaxing state! And might I add that they looked sooo lovey dovey the whole trip! Umphhhh!  LOL! THE END!

OH YEAH, AND RIHANNA’S FISHNET NON-COVERUP REMINDS ME OF WHAT PHAEDRA PARKS WORE, ON THE RHOA, TO MAKE HER MAN (APOLLO) JEALOUS FOR FLIRTING WITH KENYA MOORE WHEN THE GROUP WERE ALL ON VACAY IN ANGUILLA (EARLIER IN THE SEASON)! RHOA’S KANDI BURRUSS RESPONDS TO HATERS ABOUT MAKING A “GOSPEL” SINGLE!

Okay, so if you’ve watched the last two episodes of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, you’re aware that Kandi (former Xscape member) decided to do something different, than her typical secular music, and record a gospel single “Stay Prayed Up.” Now again, if you watch the show or even follow Kandi to some extent you know that she has a child out of wedlock, an online radio show (Kandi Coated Nights) where she discusses racy sexual topics and an innovative sex toy line called Bedroom Kandi. Consequently, many of the “holier than thou” have a serious issue with her singing the gospel. PAUSE, my question is….why didn’t people hate on Michelle Williams (the same way) when she made the crossover from secular music and Destiny’s child, who didn’t behave or look like the typical so called “Christian?”

Kandi isn’t perfect and none of us are, even though we should all strive to better ourselves. I feel that as long as you are a good and pure person who strives to be and do better, and do good unto others while you’re here on earth… then it shouldn’t matter. So I don’t see the big deal with her making a gospel song. She has her own personal relationship with God, so bible thumpers should fall back. There are a lot of people out here doing a lot worse. It’s not like she runs a porn company or does anything degrading. Okay enough about me ranting about controversial topics, esp. religion! Anywho, Kandi recently defended herself via Twitter (the usual forum for celebrities to vent these days):

“On this episode of #RHOA you see part of the gospel song I was working on. I  knew when I decided to do it that I would be criticized. That’s to be expected.  I’m a single mom that had a child out of wedlock, I speak openly about sex on  #KandiKoatedNights, I have #BedroomKandi, etc… I’m very honest about who I am.  My great grand father & my grandfather were Bishops in The Church of God  Holiness. I believe in God but I have always struggled with the rules of the  church, just like a lot of people. The song “Stay Prayed Up” is like a testimony  for me. Hopefully people with a similar struggle can relate. I’m posting the  lyrics to the hook. I’m looking forward to you hearing the whole song next  week!”

KEKE PALMER GOES OFF ON TWITTER ABOUT PEOPLE HATING ON HER FOR PLAYING TLC’S CHILLI IN THEIR UPCOMING BIOGRAPHIC MOVIE!

Well it’s been all over the tabloids (for the past couple of weeks) that rapper, Lil Mama, will be playing Lisa Lefteye Lopes in TLC’S upcoming biographic film (airing on VH1), and they recently announced a new addition. Keke Palmer will be starring in the biopic as Chilli. From what Keke is saying, she has been receiving a lot of hate (since the announcement), because many people feel that she doesn’t fit the role due to their opinion that she doesn’t look anything like Chilli or have what most ignorant people refer to as “good hair!” [Off topic, I’ll admit that that type of hair texture may be sometimes a lot easier to maintain than traditional Black hair, but I wouldn’t put it on a pedastal and say it’s any better than afro hair!] Anyway I think the hate is unwarranted, being that she is a very talented actress/musician and most actors that normally play others in a biographic film normally don’t look exactly like them. She’s close enough! At least they didn’t get someone light skinned or white to play Chilli, like they did when they got Zoe Saldana to play Nina Simone in her upcoming biopic. That’s when I would raise a serious eyebrow, and really take a huge sip of some hatorade or better yet some MAD-orade! ‘Cus that just doesn’t make any sense! Keke recently announced her annoyance on Twitter:

“People kill me, I don’t remember Angela Bassett looking ANYTHING like Tina  Turner. And she RIPPED that role, ? People need to realize hat movies  aren’t casted by people looking like who they’re playing. They’re casted by who  can do the role. I don’t know about you, but I would much rather see a  movie that is well acted, then a movie with a bunch of look a like’s. Cause  Ben Affleck isn’t even Hispanic, but the man he played in Argo IS. I  shouldn’t play the part because my baby hair isn’t the perfect texture?.  Goodnight Twitter, goodnight.”

I’m sure Keke is gonna kill her role! I look forward to seeing the film! Heck I wish I was in it! LOL!

WIZ KHALIFA AND AMBER ROSE FINALLY DROP THAT LOAD! THEIR 1ST BABY!

Not very interesting news, but last Thursday Amber Rose (who’s been looking like she was sooo ready to pop for the past couple of months) finally dropped that hot potatoe! Yes I’m late, but better late than never! Ha ha! Anyway, Wiz announced it via Twitter! The Taylor Gang’s new edition is named Sebastian! Wonder how they came up with that?

RIHANNA HAS A NEW LINE COMING OUT WITH MAC MAKEUP!

Rihanna, like Nicki Minaj and Beyonce, are always participating in a new money making ventures in order to add to that huge load of guap they already possess! Nicki Minaj is launching a line with Kmart later this year, Beyonce is now representing Pepsi, and Rihanna has recently decided to collaborate with MAC (as a creative partner) and help them manufacture and market different aspects of their color based makeup lines.

Hopefully her makeup contributions will be much better than last years collaboration she did with Armani, because the line of clothing she designed for the brand wasn’t well received by critiques since she apparently didn’t create anything unique or out of the ordinary.

Riri has already completed her MAC line called Riri Hearts. A red lipstick, called Riri Woo, will be premiered first (on May 4th) which is the day of her Diamonds Tour concert at the Barclays Center in New York. A  MAC booth will also be set up outside at her concert venue to further promote the product. An additional two colors will debut in the summer, and the fall collection will consist of four lipsticks, lipglass, false lashes and two eyeshadow palletes.

I LOVE IT! GET MONEY MONEY!$$$ These three are all very controversial ladies, that keep the public talking, but they sure do know how to build an empire. And I ain’t mad!

This video shows some of the funny and bad gifts that men gave their women, about a week ago for V-Day! The most ridiculous and disgusting one was the kindey stone ring! I’m still gagging from that one! They should have skipped adding that clip to the footage! No sir!

NEW VIDEO ALERT!: LIL WAYNE FT. DRAKE & FUTURE “LOVE ME!”

Okay, this video was alright! It really gives me a flash back to the “Monsters” music video Rick Ross, Kanye and Nicki Minaj did a year and a half ago! It’s kind of dark and weird and doesn’t have anything to do with the lyrics of the song! I don’t understand why the women in the video are lizards and cheetahs? I did, however, love the swimming pool in Wayne’s bedroom (he probably should have had Kendrick Lamar and Trey Songz do a cameo in that scene since one loves”Swimming Pools” and the other likes to”Dive In”)! How many of ya’ll have a swimming pool in your bedroom? How many of ya’ll want a swimming pool in your bedroom?!?! I’m J/K! Although the concept looks cool, I wouldn’t actually want  a bedroom filled with water and a huge bed floating in it! The closest I would try to get to that is an old school water bed! Regardless, I liked the concept for that aspect of the video. It was different and creative, especially with the weird girls swimming around Wayne the entire scene! Oh yah, and you know what annoys me about Future? You never see him without both his hat and shades on! I’ve never seen someone that wears hats and shades all day everyday!

NEW VIDEO ALERT!: DRAKE “STARTED FROM THE BOTTOM!”

Okay so I have a lot to say about this video, because I actually enjoyed many aspects of it! This is amazing since I really don’t take interest in music videos these days. Most of them are low budget, unlike the 90’s (yes my 90’s rant) when they actually used to make big buget music videos that made you look forward to the premiere date on Total Request Live or 106 & Park! Times have changed folks! Now you see a music video with the artist chilling in the same un-lively scene for the entire duration!

Anyway back to the video! I love this song, because aren’t most of us trying to make it “from the bottom to the top” in various aspects of our lifes?! So of course, we can relate to some degree. When my sister first heard this song she laughed hard at the verse where Drizzy rapped, “living at my momma’s house we used to argue every month.” Most of us can relate to that too, because my mom is a trip! Good stuff!  Also, Drizzy’s mother, who he looks like a carbon copy of, makes a cameo in the video when that verse comes up! Overall the video has a lot of energy and is very fun.

Little X, the infamous hip hop video director,  from the 90’S who has since changed his name to Director X, directed this video for Drake. Drizzy normally doesn’t spend money on music videos, which isn’t necessary these days, but decided to splurge for this one. He also decided to go to his home-town of Toronto to shoot the entire video.

My favorite scenes include the shots where Drizzy and his friends, OB O’Brien and Ryan Silverstein, are working at the drug store. In this scene his friends are hilarious when they try to holla at a pretty girl shopping in the store and when OB tries to sing the chorus to Drake’s song at work. I also like the scene where Drizzy is rapping in the snow, with a white Bentley and white outfit. That was a very creative shot and it came together well. Finally, I was a little surprised that there was a scene of Drizzy walking on a 200 ft billboard that read “started from the bottom!” His balls are waaaaayyyy bigger than mine, because there’s no way I could ever do that! I don’t like heights, and from the looks of things, one wrong move could have resulted in him plummeting to his death! I initially thought it was a stunt man, but X confirmed it was indeed Drizzy! Finally in the end of the video, where Drizzy is partying with his homies and doing it big, he is actually vacationing in the Dominican Republic. X and a film crew flew down there randomly just to get some shots of them chilling. Anyway, enough of my rants….CHECK OUT THE VIDEO!
