So it’s kinda bitter-sweet that T.I. is leaving for jail November 1st, and Wayne is getting out November 4th. But the good news is that, not only is T.I. only getting 11-months, as opposed to the 3-years or more his lawyer was exaggerating and predicting when he was initially arrested this 2nd time in L.A. for violating his probation, but TMZ claims that the L.A. court system isn’t going to pursue drug charges, on top of his violating probation charge. This is due to the fact that he has already been sentenced for violating his probation, which was caused by the drug incident in the first place. Basically, they’re being xtra nice to him, cus if it was someone else he or she would probably have to answer to both charges! Reports also reflect, that the arresting officers had no substantial proof to support the probable cause they gave for arresting T.I. Apparently the officers arrested him because they said they smelled marijuana coming from his vehicle, but they never found any to take into jail and submit as evidence. Additionally, the police INITIALLY pulled T.I. over, with no registration check, because he made an illegal u-turn, not because they smelled weed. Meaning the smelled the weed, after they approached the vehicle for his illegal driving maneuver. But it doesn’t make a difference! U do the crime U DOES DA TIME!
Civil rights activist and T.I.’s mentor, Andrew Young, had this to say about the incident ( to the Associated Press on October 25), “I assume that you’re innocent until you’re proven guilty. If he was driving and smoking marijuana, that is absolutely stupid. But why was he pulled over in the first place? Because he was black? Because they know who he is and resent his success? We never talked about drugs. Maybe I should have.”
